In Concert presented two concerts and a workshop with the artists Raed El Khazen, Fouad Afra and Jack Gregg on April 2004 at Zico House.
Raed El Khazen, also known as REK, is a Lebanese guitarist, singer, songwriter, record producer and film score composer. He is primarily known for his fusion of blues, funk and rock, as well as his versatile jazz guitar playing with a distinctive sound influenced by oriental and other world music.
Jack Gregg is an American bassist. After opening up to free jazz and jazz fusion, he finally founded one of the first jazz rock groups in 1970, Compost. In 1995, he moved to Beirut where he took up the position of double bass player in the National Symphony Orchestra. He worked with Ziad Rahbani then formed the trio Three Wheel Drive with Arthur Satyan and Steve Phillips. Jack Gregg has notably been on tour with Joe Henderson, Joe Lee Wilson, Steve McCraven or even Archie Shepp, Aldridge Hansberry and Bobby Few.
Fouad Arfa is a Lebanese drummer. He is part of the group Donna Khalife Trio, with Raffi Mandalian on guitar and Donna Khalife, a Paris-based musician, on double bass and vocals. Their music ranges from jazz standards, or original compositions to arrangements, improvisation, ballads, up tempos, swing, funk and Brazilian.
