As part of an international discussion, Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Middle East (Beirut) and Arab Middle East (Ramallah) organized a meeting of Arab bloggers at Zico House from 22 to 24 August 2008. Thirty bloggers from Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Palestine, Iraq and Syria came together to share their digital experiences in the face of the obstacles they encounter under authoritarian regimes.

Thirty bloggers from Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Palestine, Iraq and Syria came together to share their digital experiences in the face of the obstacles they encounter under authoritarian regimes.
The online activists shared their fears and aspirations in solidarity. Participants discussed the means and tools available for creative use of the net in the Arab world to improve the performance of their blogs. Legal frameworks, which guarantee rights, protection and security, were also discussed.
The meeting was organized by Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Middle East and Arab Middle East in partnership with Zico House (Beirut).

كجزء من المناقشة الدولية، نظمت Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Middle East (بيروت) والشرق الأوسط العربي (رام الله) لقاءً للمدونين العرب في Zico House في الفترة من 22 إلى 24 أغسطس 2008. اجتمع ثلاثون مدونًا من لبنان ومصر وتونس والمغرب المملكة العربية السعودية والبحرين وفلسطين والعراق وسوريا لتبادل الخبرات الرقمية في مواجهة العقبات التي يواجهونها في ظل الأنظمة الاستبدادية.
في لفتة تضامنية، شارك نشطاء الإنترنت مع المدونون مخاوفهم وتطلعاتهم، وناقش المشاركون الوسائل والأدوات المتاحة للاستخدام الإبداعي لشبكة العالم العربي بهدف تحسين أدائهم المدوني. كما تمت مناقشة الأطر القانونية التي تضمن الحقوق والحماية والأمن.
