Zico House is a platform for up-and-coming artists and for the support and promotion of avant-garde, experimental art events in Beirut.
By fostering this aesthetic, Zico House contributes to the development of art in Lebanon.
VISION
Experiencing exchanges and proximity
Because of its intimate, inhouse atmosphere, artists can present their creations, experiencing the proximity with the spectators. Inside the house, events can welcome a maximum of 70 persons, whereas in the garden and on the roof, it can host around 100 persons.
Zico House has also initiated collective projects, incorporating the whole building as a space for encounter and exchange; cultural activities take place throughout the house, on the roof, in the garden, on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. This eclectic space can be transformed depending on the needs of each artist or spectacle.

Create, Connect, Collaborate
The objectives of Zico House as a cultural space are:
- Provide a space for the cultural experience of alternative art forms
- Encourage civil associations to use arts as a medium in their social work
- Create an environment for exchange, dialogue and communication
- Work on developing the arts audience and appreciators
- Collaborate with local arts institutions in order to develop the current art scene
- Form alliances and collaborate with regional arts institutions
“As part of the historical archive project undertaken by Zico House, Ici Beyrouth met with Zico to explore the nature of this initiative. For months, Zico House’s team dusted, classified and digitized all the projects established since 1995. On this occasion, former residents or artists came back on their collaboration with Zico House, like Hassan Choubassi who came yesterday to conduct a conference on his “unfinished” works.”
