On September 5, Zico House welcomes the Syrian concert by Itar Shameh. The event also takes place the day after at Kasadar.
As part of its mission of discovering regional contemporary music, In Concert‘s second concert was with a band called Itar Shameh from Damascus, Syria, on the 5th of September 2002.
Itar Shameh (Arabic: إطار شمع) is an Oriental Jazz/Rock band; a musical band founded in 1998 by Ibrahim Sulaimani, who is a composer and a guitar player, and Rasha Rizk, who is a professor at the Higher Institute for Music at Opera Department.
Itar Shameh gives a bright picture about Syrian music composing songs that address the new generation’s problems and aspirations. Their music is a blend of Jazz, Rock, Funk, Latin music and most importantly Arabic music.

في إطار مهمتها لاكتشاف الموسيقى الإقليمية المعاصرة، كانت “إن كونسرت” الحفلة الثانية مع فرقة تسمى إيتار الشامة من دمشق ، سوريا ، بتاريخ ٥ أيلول ٢٠٠٢. إيتار شامع (عربى: إطار شمع) هي فرقة جاز / روك شرقية. فرقة موسيقى أسسها إبراهيم السليماني عام ١٩٩٨ ، ملحن وعازف جيتار ، ورشا رزق ، أستاذة بمعهد الموسيقى العالي في قسم الأوبرا. يعطي “إطار شمع” صورة مشرقة للموسيقى السورية من خلال تأليف الأغاني، الاستجابة لمشاكل وتطلعات الجيل الجديد. موسيقاهم هي مزيج من موسيقى الجاز والروك والفانك والموسيقى اللاتينية وخاصة الموسيقى العربية
