On 7 November 2008 at 9 pm, Art Lounge in Karantina hosted Khat Ahmar, I-Voice, Katibe 5, Malikah-RGB-Zoog-O-Mars-Grand Son, Under Control and DJ Lil’t, with the technical support of Zico House / concept and design by Michele Paulikevitch.
IN CONCERT intended, through this program, to provide an opportunity for Lebanese artists to grow, by expanding their skills and techniques through workshops given by professionals. German artist Roland Karl gave a graffiti workshop and two trainers from French crew Under Kontrol (won France beat box championship in 2006 and 2007) gave a beatbox workshop.
The event ended with a public demonstration of graffiti and beatbox in Hamra within the Beirut Street Festival organized by Zico House.

MALIKA is the first woman to venture into the masculine world of Hip Hop in Lebanon
KATIBE 5, Palestinian rap crew from Lebanon, released their first album that same year, in 2008.
961 UNDERGROUND, 961 is the gathering of various Lebanese rap artists: Siska and RGB from Kitta3 B (one of the first Hip Hop crew in Lebanon), Malikah, one of the few female artists in the domain, and Lethal Skillz, scratcher.

Roland Karl Aka Stone is a German gaffer. He initiated and actively participated in the ‘cubabrasil’ project to renovate old buildings with graffiti.

Description: The workshop will develop some skills around uncommon communication tools – another way to approach urban street culture. This will be more practical than theoretical. After the workshop, we will do a public demonstration.

Description: Human Beat Box is the art of reproducing or creating music with the mouth – a universally recognized tool for communication.
Objective: the aim is to make people discover the practice of human Beat Box and more generally music, by the mean of games and exercises.
