As part of an exchange programme between the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig and the Lebanese University of Fine Arts, Franziska Pierwoss performed on Thursday 7 February 2008 from noon to midnight in front at Estral center, Hamra.

For twelve hours, the German student cut two hundred manakiches with zaatar in the crowded street. Faced with the artist’s silence, the public, made up of passers-by, contemplated the division and the piling up of the manouchés. “The passers-by gave me the energy,” Franziska Pierwoss told L’Orient Le Jour.

This performance was organized with the support of Zico House and the Lebanese University of Beirut (Beyrouth).
