As part of an artistic stay in Lebanon, Noriko Koma exhibited Levantine at Zico House from Wednesday March 21 to Thursday April 8, 1999.
A graduate of the Tokyo Geidai National University of Fine Arts, Noriko Koma is a painter specializing in Nihonga, a traditional Japanese painting technique using minerals (rock powder, shell, pigment, copper) and Indian ink. Inspired by the colors of Lebanon and Syria where she regularly exhibited (Arab Cultural Center of Damascus, Agial Gallery, Zico House), she traveled through Europe and France in search of artistic perfection.
Flying over the space, Levantine was an exhibition suspended from the ceiling, where a dozen portraits of Lebanese painted on paper canvases were swinging.
An exhibition organized by Zico House (Beirut).
