Transisto Beirut

Sponsored by Zico House/Beirut, White box/ New York, Virgin and Soldier, on two and third of September, the “Beirut Street Festival” launched a festival for the Brazilian Solange Fabiao under the title ‘Transisto Beirut” from 9:00 pm until 12:00 am, among the performances that were presented after the “Yalla” dance show. Solange’s idea is to revive scenes from the three cities of New York, Shanghai and Beirut. This show is also set in the context of globalization, through which the director wishes to show the closeness of world cities to each other in terms of cultural and social customs and traditions. The Downtown dome on Martyr’s square (formerly) formed the show’s first screen and the Virgin Megastore formed the second. The first show was about New York and the second about Shanghai and the Chinese city of Nanning. Indeed, this show has been extended until September ten, at the request of the public. A concert organized by Zico House (Beirut).

Yalla! Beirut Street Festival

As part of the first edition of the Beirut Street Festival and the sustainable campaign “Transport” of “Green Line”, the old station, located in Mar Mikhael, hosted, on Wednesday August eleven 2004 at 8:30 pm, a performance of oriental dance in cooperation with Zico House.

Dressing

In 2003 from April fifteen to twenty-six, Zico House presented an installation under title of “Dressing-readdressing” by Mai Ghoussoub and Shaheen Merali, two “oriental” artists living in London. Mai nationality was Lebanese and Shaheen was Indian. This title is inspired by the play on the two expressions “Dressing” and “Read Dressing”.

Zad in Percussion August 2002
