Résurgences aims to “bring back to life” the Lebanese architectural ornaments through different evolving installations.
Scenographer, designer of objects to be tamed and interior graphic designer, Laurence Yared develops projects at the border between Design and Art. She had the opportunity to work with Art centers such as the Pompidou Center, the Biennale of Design of St-Etienne, the Domain of Chamarande, but also with brands such as Baccarat, l’Occitane or Microsoft.
Artistic director, she regularly works with a team of designers, able to respond to projects of different natures and on very varied scales. Co-founder of the duo Après vous with Nathalie La Hargue, Laurence Yared founded the solo publishing house À rebrousse poil in 2016.
As part of the preparation of the installation “Resurgences-archeology of ornaments”, Laurence Yared met with two primary classes of Abdel Kader High School in Zico House. On the program: discovery of the architectural motif, making mini dust mats…
Résurgences aims to “bring back to life” the Lebanese architectural ornaments through different evolving installations. The various destructions of the Lebanese architectural heritage through the conflicts and the explosion of last August 4th in Beirut pushed the artist to imagine a project of rebirth of this ornamental wealth partly buried under the rubble.
