From 4 to 14 November 2021, Laurence Yared exhibited her immersive installation Résurgences – Archéologie d’ornements at Zico House.

By exploring the links between archeology and ornamentation, the artist invites visitors to enter an interactive installation where traditional motifs are half-hidden by beds of sand. Résurgences hints

 

at our intimate relationship, our family, social, political memory… via architecture and strives to “bring life back” to Lebanese architectural ornaments via different evolving installations. The destruction of the Lebanese architectural heritage through the conflicts and the explosion of August 4, 2020 in Beirut prompted the artist to imagine a project for the rebirth of this ornamental wealth partly buried under the rubble.

Laurence Yared is a scenographer and visual artist, she develops projects between Design and Art. She has had the opportunity to work with art centers such as Le Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Biennale de Design in St-Etienne, the Domaine de Chamarande, Le Carreau du Temple in Paris too…

The artist presents his installation project, Résurgences at Zico House, Villa Al Qamar and in public spaces with monumental performances.
