Derealising Beirut
In collaboration with Zico House, the British Council and the International Goethe Institut, the German “Anna Fasshauer” and the Englishman “Dean Simpson” opened an exhibition under the title of “Derealization Beirut” on Tuesday December 9, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the evening. This exhibition lasted until December 6.
“Dean” presented inherent images and tools of Beirut and exhibited two similar photos side by side: the first intact and the second reconstructed by him through multiple retouching such as collages, colors, … The main idea is to revisit the Beirut old buildings using imagination.
While Anna presented a video installation on the Beirut lighthouse, as well as she used several materials to reconstruct the lighthouse in order to shed light on the peril that affects it.

Déréalisation Beyrouth
En collaboration avec la Zico House, le Conseil Britanique et l’Institut International Gothe, l’Allemand “Anna Fasshauer” et l’Anglais “Dean Simpson” ont ouvert une exposition intitulé par “Déréalisation Beyrouth” le Mardi 9 Décembre 2003 de 17:00h jusqu’à 21:00h le soir. Cette exposition a duré jusqu’à 6 Décembre.
“Dean” a présenté des images et outils inhérents de Beyrouth et a exposé deux photos similaires côte à côte: la première intacte et la seconde reconstruite par lui par multiples retouches comme les collages, les couleurs, … L’idée principale est de revisiter les anciens bâtiments de Beyrouth en utilisant l’imagination.
Tandis qu’Anna a présenté une installation vidéo sur la phare de Beyrouth, ainsi qu’elle a utilisé plusieurs matériaux pour reconstruire la phare dans le but de projeter la lumière sur le péril qui l’affecte.

الغربة عن الواقع عن بيروت
برعاية زيكو هاوس، المجلس البريطانيّ و معهد غوتي الدولي، افتتح كل من “آنا فاسهاور” الألمانية و “دين سيمبسون” الانكليزيّ معرضا تحت عنوان “الغربة عن الواقع عن بيروت” يوم الثلاثاء التاسع من شهر كانون الأول عام ٢٠٠٣ من الساعة الخامسة مساء حتى التاسعة مساء. و قد استمرّ هذا المعرض لغاية السادس عشر من الشهر عينه.
استخدم “دين” صور متأصّلة لبيروت و بعض الأدوات، و قد عرض صورتين متشابهتين جنبا ﺇلى جنب: الأولى سليمة و الثانية قدرمّمها بطريقته من خلال عدّة لمسات كقطع من الورق و الألوان… و الفكرة الأساسية هي ﺇعادة استذكار الأبنية القديمة في بيروت مستخدما الخيال.
أما “آنا” فقد عرضت فيديو عن المنارة القديمة في بيروت، كما استخدمت عدة أدوات ﻹعادة ﺇعمار المنارة بهدف تسليط الضوء على الخطر الذي يعتريها.
